Neighborhood Service Council, Inc.

Mission:

Neighborhood Service Council is a non-profit organization focused on serving the needs of disadvantaged children and adults in the Spring Valley-Coit area of Richardson and Dallas. NSC was founded in 1989 in response to the needs of the changing community in this area, and their programs have been highly successful. Among the results of NSC's efforts are: reduced gang and criminal activity, improved academic performance, lower drop-out rates, and improved school attendance. Since NSCI was founded, instances of crime have decreased 64% in the targeted areas, while the student population has doubled. Many of the children in NSCI programs have advanced to the gifted and talented programs at their schools, and some are going on to college.
