Central Dallas Ministries
Mission:
Central Dallas Ministries offers an aggressive alternative to
charity. CDM believes that handouts prolong people's problems.
At CDM, causes of poverty are identified individually and solutions are
forged. People don't remain stagnant in their ineffective habits but
learn new skills to become more effective in life. Many of those who
use CDM services get back on their feet and back to work.
A generous amount of giving back is the norm at Central Dallas
Ministries. Most volunteers are residents of the neighborhood.
Many first come to CDM in need of help and return as volunteers to help
others.
Central Dallas Ministries opens its door to those in poverty. Most of
our neighbors want to work, but are hindered by deficient education and
feelings of hopelessness. They have inadequate housing, no
transportation, and marginal childcare. Many are suffering from the
consequences of long term unemployment or underemployment.
At Central Dallas Ministries, we address these issues and more. We
provide a place of support and encouragement for our neighhbors and their
families. We reach out to our community with the goal of better
education, stronger homes, churches, schools, and economic
infrastructure.
