CHANCEL CHOIR
DeWayne McCollough, Director

The Saint Barnabas Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir is a group of approximately 35 volunteer singers, which provides music for most regular Sunday 11:00 services, special services, and presents major works during the Lenten and/or Advent seasons. With repertoire ranging from liturgical chant to English church music, from Latin motets to contemporary Christian chorales, from standard hymn arrangements to African-American spirituals, there is something for everyone!

While the preparation and performance of liturgical music for worship is the choir's primary mission, the Chancel Choir also offers major musical works yearly, usually with orchestra, brass ensemble, or other instrumentation, and in recent years has performed works such as Schubert's Mass in G, Vivaldi's Gloria, Handel's Messiah, and Faure's Requiem.

The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:15 PM, and is open to all interested participants -- just come to a rehearsal with a love of singing and a desire to participate in a very meaningful way in the worship experience.
